Teeth Bonding

Teeth bonding are a cosmetic treatment which is used to fill the gaps between your teeth. Your dentist will carefully fill the resin in the appropriate shape in order to fill the gap between your front teeth. This is a very simple practice which can be done just in one visit to your dentist. First of all, the dentist will select a perfect shade of the bonding so that it can match with your own teeth. Now he will prepare a surface of your front teeth so that it can receive the bonding material. A conditioning liquid will be applied to that surface so that it can be easier for the bonding to adhere.
Bonding will be applied once your teeth are prepared for it. This material has putty like texture which will allow your dentist to shape and mold in your mouth. An ultraviolet light is used to harden the bonding of your teeth. Then the bonding material will be polished to prevent it from irritation inside your mouth.
This treatment is used to close gaps between the teeth, but keep in mind that it is not a substitute for orthodontic treatment. Patients who are suffering from Diastemas cannot be treated with bonding alone. Your dentist will recommend you to see an orthodontic if you have other dental problems such as crooked or crowded teeth or misaligned teeth.

What to Expect During Filling

Local Anaesthesia:
Local anesthesia is given at the beginning of your filling procedure in order to numb the area around your tooth. Lidocaine is the most common local anesthetic that dentists use. There are two types of anesthetic injections: A block injection dazed an entire area or region of your mouth, for instance, one side of your lower jaw. An infiltration injection numbs a smaller area where the injection was given. Your dentist will dry the part of your mouth with air pressure or cotton and then he will give you local anesthesia. There are many dentists who use gel to numb the skin.
Tooth Decay Removal:
The dentist will then cut the enamel using a drill to remove decay from your tooth. He will then shape the space to ready it for the filling. A sticky bacterial plaque is a form of bacteria which creates acid when you use sugar in your diet. These strong acids slowly dissolve the hard enamel covering of your teeth. The process of tooth decay removal includes using mouth rinses, toothpaste and filling materials that contain fluoride, calcium, and phosphates.
Etching:

For a bonded filling your dentist will etch the tooth with an acid gel before placing the filling. It provides great strength and while you might expect that the formation of this bond is complicated but its principles are quite simple and easy to understand.
